AIWD consists of a wide range of small, medium, and large welding supply distributors. The purchasing cooperative negotiates with primary and approved vendors on behalf of the group. The volume of the group supports enticing vendor programs for AIWD members.  Members can benefit from new products and services (office supplies, computers and  insurance programs) that allow them to compete with the national chains.

AIWD has 3 board members, one from each of the AIWD regions. With input from the overall membership the board directs the strategy and direction of the group. Over 70 vendors have developed relationships with AIWD.

AIWD has over 135 members in a variety of states and expects growth to continue in all 50 states in the future. The combined sales of all locations are approximately $680 million, with approximately 2300 employees and 287 branches.
